Why a Jail Ministry in Mesa County? On any given day there are about 300 inmates in the Mesa County Jail. The inmate population turns over at about eight percent per week. This presents the opportunity to minister to people unencumbered by the pretense of daily living.

What sorts of things are done under the Mesa County Jail Ministry? The ministry helps to support the the position of the Chaplain at the Mesa County Jail. In addition to ministering to the Inmates and Officers at the jail the Chaplain oversees and directs the volunteer activities at the jail. The Chaplain and volunteers lead Bible studies and Sunday Church Services for the inmates. One-on-One visits are done by request of the Inmate or the Jail Staff.
